Throughout our history, Polydeck has consistently developed innovative screening solutions that revolutionize the way aggregate, coal, and mining producers screen their products. What began in 1959 in Johannesburg, South Africa, is today a thriving family-owned business with a leading industry image and a unique timeline of growth and revolutionary thinking.


  • 1959: Manfred Freissle and Helmut Rosenbusch started their screen manufacturing business in Johannesburg, South Africa
  • 1969: Revolutionary Polydex modular screen panel manufacturing process developed by founders
  • 1978: Polydeck Screen Corporation opened by Dieter Egler in Spartanburg, S.C., USA, introducing the Polydex screening system concept to the Americans
  • 1981: First U.S. modular synthetic screen system installed
  • 1982: Polydeck builds a manufacturing plant on Davis Chapel Road in Spartanburg
  • 1986: Expansion completed that doubles manufacturing plant
  • 1990: New administration building completed
  • 1995: Toolroom added to enable in-house die making: PipeTop support structure concept introduced
  • 1998: Rubberdex screen panel product line introduced
  • 2000: Mining Industry office and warehouse opened in Antofagasta, Chile
  • 2001: PipeTop II support system introduced
  • 2003: Manufacturing facility expanded an additional fifty percent
  • 2006: First remote warehouse facility opened in Chapmanville, West Virginia
  • 2008: Office renovation and operations administration expansion completed
  • 2009: Toolroom expanded to enhance die-making capabilities
  • 2012: Adjacent building purchased to house new Armadex product line
  • 2013: Manufacturing operations started up in Chile
  • 2014: Neighboring building purchased to increase warehouse, tool room and R&D space
  • 2016: Introduction of the Metaldex product line of modular welded wire
  • 2017: Groundbreaking Kwikdeck solution unveiled for wire cloth conversions
  • 2018: Seventh warehouse/distribution center opened in Carson City, Nevada
  • 2019: Founder, Manfred Freissle is inducted into the Pit&Quarry Hall of Fame
  • 2019: Polydeck expands operations by purchasing a neighboring building, 130 Franke Drive, renamed Polydeck Way.
  • 2019: Polydeck named Economic Visionary by Spartanburg Community College Foundation.
